Full Moon in Taurus

December 4th, is the full moon in Taurus, opposite the Sun in Scorpio. Two weeks ago, this lunar cycle began with the new moon in Scorpio exposing our vulnerabilities yet with Mars present, feeling energized.  Nevertheless, buried fears have popped up, even jealousy, and suspicion have surfaced, making us more guarded and defensive than usual.

The Sun, Venus, and Mars are still moving through Scorpio and opposing the full moon, so these  emotions are amplified. Taurus brings in the remedy so we can engage our strength and investigate what’s going on inside.  This is still a powerful time to dig deep into research projects with a penetrating mind.

In addition, Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer deepen the emphasis on water and emotions. With five planetary bodies now moving through water signs, our feeling nature is emphasized. This is beautiful for empathy, connection and anchoring our actions into what’s meaningful .  With water signs, the challenge comes when we dwell in the past and stagnate in heavy emotions that weigh us down.

The Moon in Taurus anchors, brings stability and steadiness, bringing us back to the little things that create harmony and contentment.

It is a wonderful moon to gather with people you love, share a warm meal, and to make extra time for self care; relaxing the senses, stepping outside to bathe in the forest and watch the moonlight.

I love the Scorpio Taurus axis to teach us how to transform our wounds by facing fears, insecurities, and deeper truths we’ve avoided.Taurus gives us the healing balm by teaching us how to enjoy life, how to rest, stabilize, and appreciate the sweetness of simplicity while healing.

Scorpio = face what needs to evolve

Taurus = stop to smell the roses and appreciate the small moments

This moon falls in Rohini, “the Red One,” a star of beauty, sensuality, and abundance. Rohini is beloved in Vedic lore as the favourite wife of Soma, the Moon god. It symbolizes the charm, creativity, and magnetic power of nature and reminds us to appreciate the richness life offers.

And I’m not writing about superficial beauty.  I’m writing about the beauty we experience that opens us, expands us, and reminds us of the joy of being alive. You have felt it when your heart stirs - hearing birdsong, the giggles of children, on forest trails, witnessing starry skies, and the infinite expressions you have had in this human body.

Rohini reminds us to bring our mind to a place of gratitude.  Yes, life is challenging, yet our acceptance of the wounds and gratefulness for what they have taught us opens the flow of grace.

Under this Taurus moon, beauty becomes nourishment, and gratitude becomes medicine. Pause and acknowledge the abundance surrounding you; both visible and subtle. This moon teaches us that grounding, steadiness, and inner peace are always available.
